Your choices impact your cost per square foot
There are certain things that increase cost without increasing square footage including specialty trim, crown molding, window treatments, lighting and fireplaces. Kitchen appliances alone can increase your cost per square foot by $10-20 per square foot due to choices in things like tile flooring, expensive cabinetry and countertops, and plumbing fixtures. Kitchens and bathrooms may be well over $500 per square foot compared to a bedroom or family that may be closer to $50 per square foot.
