Buildertrend.com asked five homebuilders and remodelers' expect opinions on what exterior home designs are popular and trending in 2023. Here's what they said.
Mixed Textures
First up is mixed textures. People are choosing to mix different textures and materials for more depth and contrast in their homes exteriors. Popular combinations include brick and vinyl siding or wood and metal.
Indoor/Outdoor Flow
People are incorporating indoor + outdoor flow into their homes so that they may easily enjoy both at the same time. Builders are seeing larger windows and doors put in homes as well as easy access to outdoor living areas.
Black Trim
Three of the five experts agreed that black windows and trim are the most requested feature that their clients are requesting for their homes. The black accents create a nice contrast to lighter color homes.
Board + Batten Siding
Board and batten has been around for centuries but is again gaining popularity. This is such a versatile style and is found on all types of homes. This style consists of long plank siding with smaller strips that cover the seams.
Modern Designs
The clean lines and geometric shapes of the modern home style are showing up in new homes and remodels alike. Many people find the sleek aesthetic of this style appealing.
